The Coalition of Bauchi State Christian Youths and Elders in Politics has passed a vote of confidence on Architectronix Ltd, the construction firm that constructed the new Bauchi State Government House.
The multi-billion Naira remodelled Government House was commissioned by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The new Government House, constructed by a construction company led by its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Architect Reuben Okoya, comprises the governor’s office, the deputy governor’s office and the SSG’s office, as well as the governor’s official residence and two different banquet halls, among others.
Speaking to journalists, Comrade Joel Joshua, chairman of the Bauchi state Coalition of Christian Youths and Elders in Politics, commended Architect Reuben Okoya, Chairman of the construction firm that is also carrying out the construction of Bauchi International Conference Centre, for delivering a quality job so far.
The group appreciated Architect Okoya for recruiting his workers without recourse to ethnic or religious differences, and stressed that the Christian community were adequately represented in his workforce.
“He has been working in line with the vision of His Excellency, the executive Governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Mohammed who is governing Bauchi state without discrimination on the bases of religion or ethnicity”, he said.
Comrade Joshua further explained that Architect Okoya’s recruitment of engineers and other workers lacked bias along ethnic or religious lines.
“We are glad that after the successful completion of the government house construction, the work on the new International Conference Centre has reached an appreciable level, at least more than 80 per cent”, he said.
Comrade Joel stated that the new Government House, which looks like the United States White House, is adjudged by many as the best in the country.
“What impresses the Bauchi State Coalition of Christian Youths and Elders in Politics about Architectronix is the way they focused on ensuring that quality and durable construction services are delivered”, he said.
“We learned that even recently, the construction firm has increased the salary of its workers to enable them cope with the challenges of inflation in the market”, Comrade Joshua further stated.
“Arch. Okoya’s kindness to people cannot be overemphasized; he is kind to his workers, and he ensures that they are motivated to put in their best. He appreciates dignity in labour”, he added.
The chairman of the coalition maintained that Architect Okoya’s quest for quality construction services had been seen in his usual motivation of his workers with reasonable stipends, particularly during festive seasons.
The coalition, which observed that the quality of work done by the company handling the construction of the international conference centre in Bauchi can not be compared to none in the country, appealed to the Bauchi State Government to retain them for future projects.
