The chairman, Abia State House of Assembly Committee on Public Service, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has distributed bags of rice and money to widows and indigent people in Obingwa West constituency.
Spokesperson for the member representing the constituency, George Egejuru, stated this in Erondu’s Christmas message to the constituents which was sighted by LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, the state capital, yesterday.
“Congratulating Christians in the constituency on the joyous occasion, he urged them to emulate the sacrificial lifestyle of Jesus Christ, disclosing that it is the essence of the season,” the statement said.
The People’s Democratic Party legislator also appealed to well-placed persons in the constituency to show love and share good things and time with the less-privileged as Christ did.
“This is truly the most special time in our lives as Christians. Without the coming of the Messiah, the world would have remained in complete bondage. So, let’s celebrate the occasion joyfully with others,” he said.
He used the forum to reiterate his readiness to continue to strive harder in partnership with Governor Alex Otti to bring the desired dividends of democracy to the constituency.
