Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has called on the people of the state to come together regardless of their faith and pray for peace and security of the state and the country at large.
In a goodwill message marking the 2025 Christmas celebration, the governor urged the residents join hands in action and prayers against the bad elements who are perpetrating heinous and criminal activities in the state.
„Our State is known for peace and we must continue to maintain the status-quo. This is because without peace, all the developmental projects we have executed would not have been possible,“ he noted.
The governor felicitated with all Christian faithful in the State as they join millions of their counterpart all over the world to celebrate the feast of Christmas in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ.
„My dear brethren, you are aware that the birth of Jesus Christ, symbolizes love, peace, humility and, indeed, dignity for humankind. It is for this reason that Jesus Christ epitomizes self-sacrifice, good neighborliness, charity and reconciliation among human race. This festive season, therefore, calls for sober reflection and reaffirmation of moral rectitude as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
„I, therefore, use the opportunity of this Christmas celebration to call on all Christians in the State and in diaspora to imbibe the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ by showing love and affection, sharing of alms with one another at all times as enshrined in the Holy Book.
„I should remind all Christians on the significance of this sacred period so as to continue to pray for the sustainable peace, health wellbeing and prosperity of our State and the nation at large. It is pertinent to note that this period symbolizes immense blessings and sacrifice. I, therefore, call on you all to take advantage of this period to pray for peace, security and harmonious co-existence of the people of our dear State and the country at large.
„As you celebrate this Christmas, I enjoin you to be steadfast and prayerful with all sense of humility.
You should avoid extravagance and flamboyant lifestyle and be guided by the fear of God at all times.
„Let me take the liberty of this occasion to call on the good people of Nasarawa State to exhibit brotherliness in all our conducts. We must continue to be our brother’s keepers in our collective commitment to the development of our dear State in line with the dreams of our founding fathers. I should also caution that as we approach electioneering period, let us play politics with decorum. This is because Nasarawa State belongs to us all. We have a responsibility to sanitize the politics and polity for our collective good.
„In this same vein, let us come together regardless of our faith and pray for peace and security of our State and the country at large. We must join hands in action and prayers against the bad elements who are perpetrating heinous and criminal activities in Nasarawa State. This is because without peace, all the developmental projects we have executed would not have been possible,“ the governor stated.
He called on road users to always obey traffic rules and regulations so as to ensure safety on our roads during the festivities and beyond.
„In this regard, let me re-echo that, the officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission and other relevant agencies are obliged to step up their operations and surveillance to ensure accident-free yuletide season,“ he said.
