Speaking while distributing the commodity to the beneficiaries on behalf of the governor, Nasir Idris in Birnin Kebbi, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Yakubu Bala Tafida, enjoined the Christians in the state, particularly beneficiaries of the gesture, to use the season in praying for peace, unity, absolute security in Kebbi and the country.

Represented by the permanent secretary of Cabinet and Political Affairs, Dr Nasir Abubakar Kigo, the SSG disclosed that the gesture complements the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable families and uplifting their lives.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Malama Hauwa’u Umar, a Widow, expressed gratitude to the government for the gesture.

While urging the government to sustain the gesture, she called on other governments to emulate the Kebbi government in bringing happiness to widows, especially during festive periods.
