A frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma has called for greater brotherly love and kindness among Nigerians during the Christmas season and beyond.
Media aide to the former APC national auditor, Mr. James Eze said he made the call while hosting a group of Christians in his Nneyi, Umueri country home, Anambra East local government area of Anambra State on Christmas Eve.
Sir Chukwuma, according to Eze observed that Christmas is a unique season when Christendom rises as one to reenact the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ by giving and sharing whatever they have with the rest of humanity.
“At Christmas, we rise as one to demonstrate our shared humanity. We show love to mankind as Christ our Saviour did. We do not make any distinction between Jews and Gentiles because the birth of Christ offers mankind the opportunity for rebirth and renewal. Christmas itself is an act of love,” Sir Chukwuma explained.
Chukwuma said the spirit of Christmas reminds Christendom about the overriding importance of love, forgiveness, kindness, mercy and joy to all.
“In demonstrating these virtues at Christmas and beyond, we live out the true meaning of Christianity and lend a hand to the fulfilment of the mission of Christ for mankind,” Sir Chukwuma further observed.
The APC governorship aspirant also noted that Anambra State was in dire need of the spirit of Christmas.
“Our dear Anambra has been traumatised all year long by a long drawn spate of insecurity and avoidable deaths. While we decry the appalling leadership failure that has led to these regrettable outcomes, we pray that true love as represented by the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ shall find expression among our people this Christmas and that his loving kindness shall heal Ndi Anambra from the avoidable trauma they have experienced in this outgoing year,” he said.
