Hundreds of residents of Ibadan, Oyo State capital whose houses have been marked for demolition to pave way for the ongoing construction of Circular Road, stormed the state secretariat to protest the exercise.

Many residents, it was gathered, have been rendered homeless following the decision of the state government to demolish houses due to the ongoing road project.

Our correspondent learnt that scores of residents were stranded when the government began the demolition of the houses.

Most of the affected house owners who were at the state secretariat to protest against the demolition were seen with various placards, calling on the government to halt the exercise.

It would be recalled that the opposition political party, All Progressives Congress (APC) had cautioned the Oyo State government against rendering hundreds of residents homeless as a result of the road project.
