The Coalition of Nigerian Progressives (CNP) has condemned recent calls to remove Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari, describing these calls as baseless and malicious.
Addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, CNP national chairman Abdulrahman Sade stated, “It is no longer news that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has been under a storm in recent times, with scores of Nigerians criticising the company’s leadership.”
“We at the Coalition of Nigerian Progressives (CNP), after our rigorous investigations, boldly declare that, given the history of the NNPCL, the current leadership under Mele Kyari should be commended for its achievements instead of facing criticism,” he said.
He noted that Kyari’s tenure has been marked by strategic investments that have boosted Nigeria’s oil and gas production capacity, enhancing national development.
Sade stressed that the NNPCL’s managing director has transformed the company into a more transparent and accountable entity, which is crucial for the nation’s progress.
