National Coordinator of the group, Terence Kuanum, during a press briefing in Abuja Thursday, described the suspension as “an act of terrorism for members of a political party to suspend the National Chairman of another political party.

Ganduje Secures Court Order To Stop Suspension From APC

“These guys carried out this action without fear of the law and still went to the Kano State High Court to obtain an order against the APC National Chairman.

“We received calls from international organisations seeking clarification on how non-APC Members suspended the APC National Chairman and the court upheld it. The burden of explanation became cumbersome, making the job of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria more difficult.

“But today, the hope on the Nigerian Judiciary is restored with the order in a matter of an application for the enforcement of fundamental rights to fair hearing granted by Hon. Justice A. M. Liman of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Kano Judicial Division that all Respondents, their servants, agents, or privies are hereby restrained from implementing and or giving effect to the purported decision reached during the purported emergency meeting of the alleged executive members of APC in Ganduje Ward, held at Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State on the 15th April, 2024 pending the hearing and determination of the substantive application for enforcement of fundamental rights of the applicant.

“With the above order, the faith of Nigerians and indeed the world is restored back to the judiciary. We hereby commend the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola for restoring the integrity of the Nigeria judicial system,” the statement said.
