A coalition of civil society organisations (CSOs), under the aegis of Rising for a United Nigeria (RUN), has expressed optimism that a better Nigeria will emerge through the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio in 2027.

The group stated this while congratulating President Tinubu on his victory in the recent presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Akpabio on his emergence unopposed in his senatorial contest.

In a statement signed yesterday in Abuja by the convener of RUN, Ambassador Solomon Adodo, the organisation described the victories of the two leaders as a positive signal for Nigeria’s democratic and developmental future.

According to Adodo, the partnership between the executive and legislative arms of government under Tinubu and Akpabio has contributed to policies and programmes aimed at accelerating national development.

“The victory of Asiwaju and Akpabio represents hope for the country beyond 2027. Nigerians are already witnessing the benefits of cooperation between the legislature and the executive in advancing national development,” he said.

The group commended the support the Senate President has continued to extend to the administration of President Tinubu, noting that such collaboration has helped in driving policies geared towards economic growth and improved national productivity.

RUN further called on Nigerians, particularly youths, to support the administration’s programmes and participate actively in initiatives aimed at strengthening national unity across ethnic, regional and religious divides.

The organisation said it was committed to promoting youth inclusion and empowerment through programmes that align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“As a youth-focused group, we are determined to support initiatives that will improve the skills and productivity of young Nigerians while addressing unemployment and other socio-economic challenges confronting the country,” the statement added.

The group also expressed confidence that the continued leadership of Tinubu and Akpabio would deepen cooperation between both arms of government and contribute to the emergence of a more prosperous and united Nigeria.
