A coalition of Delta APC Youths has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider appointing individuals with a proven track record in philanthropy as the minister for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
In a press statement, a representative of the coalition, Mr Agbigbe Ochuko, emphasised that the call was prompted by the current hardships faced by Nigerians.
He urged the appointment of someone selfless, empathetic to the suffering of the masses, and accessible, with a genuine passion for humanitarian service.
The coalition specifically proposed Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho for the position, citing her extensive experience aiding the less privileged.
“Whenever she has the opportunity to help, her love for persons with disabilities is infectious and unwavering. Appointing her would ensure a square peg in a square hole; she is the right person for the job,” Ochuko stated.
The coalition believes the president can restore hope to Nigerians by entrusting key governance roles to individuals with tested records and experience.

“We appeal to the President to consider this request on behalf of many Nigerians, allowing Dr Halimat Adenike Tejuosho the opportunity to showcase her capabilities and draw from her wealth of humanitarian experience,” he added.

“We are confident that Mr President will heed this request, as he consistently seeks out the best candidates. With rumours of cabinet reshuffling circulating, we trust that he will appoint capable individuals to support his renewed hope agenda and address the needs of the masses. We reiterate our support for Mr President’s progressive policies to reposition the country for the better.”
