Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian Funnybone, born Julian Stanley, has urged young women to stop letting social media horror stories poison their outlook on love and relationships.

The comic took to Instagram to challenge women who have grown wary of commitment after consuming a relentless feed of negative relationship content online.
His central advice was straightforward: take control of what fills your head.

He warned that constantly absorbing content rooted in heartbreak and bitterness risks poisoning attitudes towards men who have not even appeared in one’s life yet.

Rather than wallowing in others’ cautionary tales, Funnybone encouraged his followers to actively seek out content promoting emotional healing, personal growth, and maturity. He insisted that bad experiences shared online need not become a personal blueprint.

“Your story can be different, and your experience can be beautiful,” he wrote, signing off with a reassurance that every woman’s romantic journey could yet surpass what she feared.
