Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) is seeking the cooperation of host countries to Nigerian pilgrims as some Nigerian Christians prepare to embark on this year’s pilgrimage to holy sites abroad.

This is as the commission disclosed that it would soon commence its 2022 pilgrimage exercise to Rome and Israel by the middle of this October, 2022.

The commission said preparations for the commencement of the 2022 Christian pilgrimage to Rome and Israel have reached an advanced stage.

The executive secretary of the pilgrims’ commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam made the disclosure when he paid a courtesy visit to the consul-general of Italy, Mr Ugo Boni at the Italian consulate, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking at the courtesy visit, Dr Pam solicited the cooperation and assistance of the envoy in facilitating speedy visa procurement for the intending pilgrims and officials, according to the commission’s media and public relations, Celestine Toruka said in a statement.

Rev Pam assured the consul-general that the commission will continue to strengthen the bilateral relationship that exists between Nigeria and Italy through robust pilgrimage exercise.

The NCPC helmsman intimated his host that he was at the Italian consulate to synergise with him and explain the operational framework of the commission, considering the fact that he has just assumed duty in Nigeria.
