Commission Set For Borno Council Poll

Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC ) has distributed materials for today’s local government council elections.

The distribution exercise held at the state electoral commission’s headquarters in Maiduguri was done under tight security.

Representatives of political parties, election observers, media personnel and officials of the electoral commission were on ground to monitor the exercise.

Chairman of BOSIEC, Dr Tahir Shettima, said the enabling environment had been provided for every eligible voter to vote during the election.

“Materials have been deployed to the various polling units across the local government areas. We have trained ad-hoc staff and they will man every polling unit to ensure that every electorate votes. This election is all inclusive. Women and persons living with disabilities ( PWDs ) are not left out,” Dr Shettima said.
