After clashes among Fulani, Boko, Kambari and Barigawa communities in Borgu and Agwara local government areas of Niger State, their leaders have heeded Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s call for peace.

The governor warned those fuelling ethnic tensions to desist while he seeks for reconciliation.

LEADERSHIP reports that scores were killed last weekend in the communal clashes among the ethnic groups in Borgu Emirate which was attributed to reprisal attacks from all the parties involved.

Consequently, the governor visited the Emir of Borgu, Muhammad Sani Haliru Kitoro, to commiserate with the victims before a reconciliation meeting at Kontagora yesterday

Bago stressed the need for the communities in Agwara and Borgu local government areas to sheathe their swords and maintain peace for the development of the state and humanity.
