Commuters Flee As Fire Engulfs Commercial Bus In Lagos

The driver and passengers of a commercial bus scampered for safety when the vehicle conveying them burst into fire at the Falomo Bridge inward Ikoyi axis in Lagos on Thursday.

Luck however smiled on the commuters as they all escaped unhurt from the bus as the inferno raged from the vehicle.

Popular Nollywood Actress Kate Henshaw in a post shared on her verified X handle had called on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency to address incidents of fire on the bridge.

She stated, “Can the Fire Service and Emergency services go to Falomo Bridge inward Ikoyi to quench the raging fire there?? A bus is on fire there and traffic is horrendous.”

Similarly, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in a post on its verified X handle stated, “A burning bus at Falomo Bridge descending Falomo R/about. @LagosRescue is already on the ground to put out the fire. Our Officers are on the ground to ensure safety and manage the traffic backlog.”

Meanwhile, officials of the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service are seen dousing the inferno as the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained.
