Executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Mr Sonny Echono has called on beneficiary institutions to adhere to the public procurement process in order to eliminate corruption tendencies.

Echono spoke at the opening ceremony of a three-day capacity-building workshop on the public procurement process for TETFund beneficiary institutions organised by TETFund in collaboration with the Bureau for Public Procurements held in Kano State.

He said the training organised in Kano was for the beneficiary institutions in the North West and North East parts of the country.

He explained that the objective of the capacity-building training was to equip the beneficiary tertiary institutions with procurement processes geared toward addressing corrupt practices in all the TETFund projects nationwide.

The TETFund boss maintained that the three-day training would serve as a refresher training for desk officers of TETFund in the 246 enlisted beneficiary tertiary institutions across the country.
