A constituent from Bali 1 state constituency, Mr. Babangida Buba, said his legal counsel has finished compiling a report on the threat made to him by the member representing the constituency in Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Veronica Elhassan, to present to the Taraba State Commissioner of Police.
Buba stated this while speaking to LEADERSHIP about the recent recorded phone call between himself and the member representing Bali I at Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Alhasan. The audio has since gone viral on social media.
In a phone audio communicated in Hausa language, Alhasan, who called Buba on his phone number 08085296613, asked Buba why he (Buba) was following the youths within the constituency to convince them to follow one Mrs Esther, a perceived aspirant for the seat of Bali 1 state constituency come 2027.
Alhasan, during the conversation, vowed to lock up both Buba and Esther under police custody without bail and also ensure that Buba remains unsettled throughout his lifetime.
“Babangida, let me ask you: Are you well? You have been following my youths, compelling them to follow Aunty Esther. Are you well? I swear to God, Babangida, if you don’t leave my way, I will tire you up, I will deal with you, and I am not your mate.
“I swear to God if you don’t leave my youths, I will deal with you. I have not insulted anyone in my life, but I have to insult you. My youths have been calling me, what have I done to you in your life, and you are treating me this way? You will never end well, Babangida.
“Babangida I call you this morning that I just concluded my morning prayers, I swear you will not end well,” Alhasan threatened in the audio, although, Buba was pleading all through during the conversation.
Meanwhile, Buba, while speaking to our correspondent, disclosed that he has instructed his lawyer, who has already completed compiling the report of the audio, which he terms a “Threat to life,” to present it to the commissioner of police of Taraba State Police Command and subsequently approach a court of law for proper prosecution of the case.
