Cormart Nigeria Limited, a leading provider of chemical and food raw material solutions and part of TGI Group, is poised to open its cutting-edge cold storage facility to reduce food waste, preserve perishables, and improve pharmaceutical storage across Nigeria. With the country facing significant post-harvest losses due to inadequate storage, this facility offers 3,000 MT for frozen and temperature-sensitive products.
Constructed using sandwich panel technology with Polyurethane Foam (PU) insulation, it ensures optimal cooling efficiency and extends the shelf life of agricultural produce, dairy, processed foods, pharmaceuticals, and vaccines.
Managing director of Cormart and Chi Farms Nigeria Limited, Martin Middernacht, highlighted the company’s dedication to enhancing Nigeria’s cold chain storage infrastructure.
“This facility is a game-changer for Nigeria’s food and pharmaceutical industries. Beyond storage, it offers a lifeline for farmers, food processors, and businesses, ensuring produce reaches markets in peak condition, reducing waste, and ultimately boosting incomes. By strengthening cold chain infrastructure, we are supporting urban markets and enabling rural communities to engage more effectively in the value chain,” Middernacht stated.
As part of TGI Group’s commitment to sustainability and enhancing value chains, Cormart’s latest innovation fortifies Nigeria’s growing cold chain industry, providing businesses with reliable, energy-efficient, cost-effective storage solutions.
