Corpses Of 8 Missing Policemen Recovered In Benue

Eight more corpses of the missing security agents attacked last Friday at the Agu centre in Mbatyula/Mberev Council Ward of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State by local bandits and armed herders have been recovered.

Chairman of Katsina Ala LG, Justin Shaku, who disclosed this to newsmen on Monday in a  telephone interview, said that the bodies of the security agents were recovered on Sunday night.

This brings the number of security personnel killed in the attack to 11, according to the authority.

However, some of the locals who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said the recovery of the eight policemen  brought the number of security agents killed to 24.

Shaku said, “Yes, I can confirm that the bodies of the eight security personnel were recovered yesterday (Sunday) night.

He said, “The Police Commissioner Ifeanyi Emenari is right here with me, though, the atmosphere is still tense and unfriendly. But we are on top of the situation.”
