The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), Professor Salisu Shehu, has urged a comprehensive reform of Nigeria’s educational curriculum to prepare learners as ethical and digitally competent citizens.
He spoke at the maiden international conference of the Department of Arts and Social Science Education, Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State.
Presenting his paper titled; “Policy, Pedagogy and Practice: Reforming the Curriculum for Moral and Digital Competence,” Professor Shehu emphasised that education remains central to national development, as it shapes human capital, fosters social reengineering, and equips society to address complex issues arising from digital technologies.
