The Legislative Council of Ibadan North local government area, Oyo State, has impeached the suspended council chairman Hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo over alleged misconduct
Oladayo was suspended by the Oyo State House of Assembly over allegations levelled against him by the leaders in the council area and councillors, tagged ‘Misappropriation of Of Council Funds And High-handedness Of Honourable Yusuff Sahib Oladayo (Agba-Egbe)’.
The council lawmakers under the leadership of Honourable Amos Olaolu Akindele, Councillor Representing Ward 1 had earlier received a petition to investigate the chairman, Hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo (Agba-Egbe).
A panel chaired by Honourable Abiola Sunday which was set up to investigate the allegations levelled against the chairman, in their report found Oladayo guilty of misappropriation, abuse of office and maladministration.
After the report, Hon. Mudashiru, councillor representing Ward 4 moved the motion that the chairman be impeached and it was seconded by Hon. Ismail Akolawe, representing Ward 7.
he impeachment process was carried out at the Council House Chambers. All the lawmakers from the 12 wards in the council agreed that the chairman, Hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo (Agba-Egbe) was guilty of the following charges, 1) Misappropriation of Public Funds. 2) Abuse of office and 3). Maladministration.
