Ahead of the governorship election in Ondo State, a Federal High Court in Abuja has said the Action Alliance (AA) governorship primary that produced Akinuli Omolere as a candidate for the November 16 Ondo governorship election is valid.

The primary was conducted on their party platform under the leadership of Barrister Kenneth Udeze.

However, a faction of the party, led by Adekunle Rufai-Omoaje, who was sacked by the Court of Appeal, is challenging the conduct of the primary for the election of Barrister Udeze’s leadership.

In its judgement in the matter, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik dismissed the suit filed by Omoaje.

The court said Omoaje lacked the legal right to challenge the outcome of the governorship primary, having admitted that he organised a parallel one on April 27, the same date as the Udeze-led party leadership, which the court deemed valid.

The judge, therefore, urged the Omoaje faction of the party to stop forum shopping for judgments and register with another political party instead.

The court warned Omoaje to stop deceiving the public, as the appeal court has settled the issue of who remains the authentic National Chairman of Action Alliance (AA).
