A Federal High Court Sitting in Owerri, Imo State, has ordered the Bauchi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to conduct fresh primary elections for the Bauchi South Senatorial ticket.
In May this year, PDP announced Garba Dahiru as the winner of its Bauchi South senatorial primary elections. However, the runner-up of the election contested in court and secured a judgement mandating the party to hold fresh primaries barely two months before the 2023 general elections.
Reacting to the judgement, the Bauchi State Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam the party will abide by the judgment of the Federal High, Owerri, Imo State that nullified the result of the primary elections conducted by the party for the Bauchi South Senatorial seat in the 2023 General elections.
He said the PDP as a law-abiding party, is ready to do as ordered by the court.
“Yes, the Federal High Court has ordered a rerun of the primary election for Bauchi South Senatorial seat, not nullification as being widely circulated in the social media.”
