The High Court of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has ordered parties in the ongoing lawsuit between YouTuber and blogger, Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) and Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, to maintain status quo.

While the prophet had sued VeryDarkMan over claims regarding his religious activities and sale of ‘miracle water’ in his church, the court injunction mandated that neither of the parties should take any further action that could alter the existing situation.

Prophet Fufeyin accused VeryDarkMan of spreading defamatory content against him across social media platforms.

After the court session, the lead counsels shared their perspectives on the court’s legal decision.

In this high-stakes legal battle, which balances the right to free speech against claims of defamation, the Vacation FCT High Court has ordered the subsistence of the status quo injunction.

The ruling aimed to ensure that the current conditions remained unchanged as the case, which has generated widespread public interest, proceeds through the legal system.
