A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has predicted that the party will take over the Rivers State Government House come 2023 despite the ruling of the Federal High Court nullifying all its primary elections.
This is as he dismissed insinuations that the leadership style of the immediate-past Minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, was responsible for the setback being witnessed by the party in the state.
Eze, in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, the state capital, described the judgement of the High Court as “a temporary hiccup.”
Although pained by the judgement, the APC chieftain called on party faithful and candidates to remain focused and continue with every legitimate engagement with stakeholders and electorate from all strata to seal the victory of the party ahead of the elections.
He stated that it was painful to learn that despite very clear and convincing evidence by the APC to establish that plaintiffs were not members of the party, the trial judge agreed with those who dragged the party to court.
