Edo State police commissioner Mallam Mohammed Dankwara has directed the Anti-kidnapping and Cybercrime Unit to investigate the criminal activities of one Rachael Eboni Osazee lyonmana, a Canada-based Nigerian.
The chairman of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Festus Alenkhe, had recently petitioned Dankwara over Rachael’s unprovoked cyber attack on his person.
Alenkhe drew the attention of the police boss to a case of false information on kidnapping, cyber bullying and defamation being orchestrated against him by one Rachael.
A police source said the head of the Anti-kidnapping And Cybercrime Unit of the Edo State Police Command commenced investigations into the case last week following a directive from the police commissioner.
The NUJ chairman wrote that he has never met the alleged cyber bully but however conceded that he is a family friend of the estranged husband who parted ways with her as he reportedly does not feel the same way about her anymore, an action which apparently influenced her resolution to smear close associates of the husband.
Alenkhe said in a fit of fury, the lady went on the internet with his pictures, castigating him.
“She described me as a kidnapper who is planning to kidnap her and went further to say such on YouTube with the name ‘Eboni Godswill’. She painted me to the world as a kidnapper and armed robber. I view her action as blackmail and malicious. She posted several pictures of me on Facebook with slanderous statements.”
“I humbly appeal to the commissioner of police to direct the men of the Anti-Kidnapping /Cybercrime Unit of the Edo State Police Command to extend investigations into the matter. She should tell the police if we have ever met or interacted. If yes, let her produce the evidence,” he said.
