Cross River: Commissioner For Information, Ekpang Takes Office, Outlines Vision

The newly inaugurated Cross River State commissioner for Information, Hon Erasmus Ekpang on Thursday assumed duty as he meets staff and took tour of the Ministry in Calabar.

 

Hon Ekpang, who was received by the Director of Information, Mrs Anita Ekpenyong and other staff in the Ministry, took a tour of the ministry to ascertain the state of offices and facilities.

 

He stated that in line with the vision of the administration of the State Governor, Sen Prince Bassey Otu, he will collaborate with staff and other agencies of government to first make the working environment conducive for all work productively.

 

According to him, My vision is to change the face of information, the CRBC, Chronicles and other units of the ministry to be competitive and effectively promote the activities of government and move Cross River State forward.

 

While stressing that there are a lot of work to be done in the Ministry of Information in the state, he assured that he begin by getting the right to quickly give the offices a face-lift and rebrand the state with the dissemination of the right information.

 

He stated further that under his leadership, it is going to be a different ministry of information that will synergise with other ministries and agencies of government to keep Cross Riverians abreast of government efforts and impacts.

 

“Within the next few weeks we need to work assiduously and change the face of the Ministry of Information.

“For example the portraits of the president and government can’t be found anywhere, we need to work towards producing the portraits for government offices to come buy and ensure they are strategically placed in all officers including the private offices.”

 

He hope to collaborate with the National Orientation agency and others to push for the right funding to jump start work and revamp the various units including CRBC, Chronicles and others for effective service delivery.
