The Government of Cross River State has mourned the death of Ntunkae Georgina Raphael Ita, fondly called Eka, describing her demise as painful.
A statement by the special adviser, Media and Publicity to the governor, Christian Ita, yesterday, said the sad event occurred on April 28th, 2023 at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar.
Ita said until her transition, she was a god-fearing woman, a prayer warrior, a devout Christian, a women’s advocate, and a loving mother with a peaceful disposition.
The statement reads in part: “It is with a heavy heart, profound sadness, and a deep sense of loss that we write to notify you of the passing to eternal glory of our dear mother, Ntunkae Georgina Raphael Ita, fondly called Eka.
“Our late matriarch was a hardworking woman who tried her hands on so many business endeavors, including hospitality with the establishment of Georgina’s Inn in New Netim, Odukpani Local Government Area.
“She is survived by children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
“While soliciting your prayers as we deal with this painful loss, the family invites you to join us in celebrating the life and time of this virtuous woman.
“Your condolence letters and tributes will, therefore, be highly appreciated. They should be forwarded to [email protected]”
He said the opening of praise house will be held on June 7th, 2023 at Plot 125, E2 by Northwest Filling Station. Lemna), Calabar by 10 am.
“The praise night will be held June 9, 2023, at the same venue as above by 5 pm.
He added that the funeral service will. e held at Management Development Institute, Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar, June 10, 2023.
