Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide has decried frequent killings and insecurity in the country, calling on Nigerians to intensify prayers and intercession for the nation.
The church which stated this during a press conference in Lagos ahead of its 56th Ascension Pilgrimage to Mount Horeb in Galilee City, Orile Igbon, Oyo State, emphasised the critical role of divine intervention in resolving the country’s growing concerns over banditry, terrorism and communal unrest.
Addressing journalists, the spiritual head of the C&S, Prophet Emmanuel Alogbo, outlined the church’s efforts in tackling insecurity, saying, “The issue of insecurity is a significant concern and the church has not been immune to its impact, having experienced kidnappings and tragic losses within its community.
“Despite these challenges, the church remains steadfast in faith and hope for the nation’s recovery and the end of insecurity.”
Prophet Alogbo, who is celebrating his first anniversary as Baba Aladura of the movement, emphasised that consistent and sustainable intercessory prayers have been a cornerstone of the church since the pre-colonial era.
“From the challenges of the first republic through military rule to the present democratic dispensation, the church has actively supported the nation spiritually. A crucial aspect of the church’s response to insecurity is sustained prayer, with prayer warriors, prophets, and leaders worldwide interceding for the government and security forces who are at the forefront of combating insecurity,” he said.
Prophet Alogbo further called on citizens to play an active role in ensuring safety by sharing information with law enforcement, watching out for one another, and taking preventive measures against potential threats.
