Disclosing this during a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of LEADERSHIP Group in Abuja on Wednesday, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CSCS, Haruna Jalo-Waziri, highlighted reforms and progress made by the company.

Jalo-Waziri explained that the company has facilitated technological advancements in market operations. He said that the CSCS has significantly invested in technology since 2017, transitioning from traditional processes to digital solutions. He also highlighted the adoption of Indian technology platforms, such as TCS, to streamline operations.

He underscored the importance of collaboration between data companies, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions to build market capacity.

Speaking on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Jalo-Waziri stressed the need for trust and transparent communication in policy formation. “For our markets to grow, we need a strong foundation of trust between investors, regulators, and stakeholders,” he said.

He also disclosed that the CSCS will host the Africa and Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA) Annual Conference in Lagos next month. The CSCS said that this year’s conference, titled “Shaping the Future: Financial Markets & Infrastructure as Catalysts for Transforming Economies,” will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and financial market stakeholders across the region.
