A civil society organisation based in Bauchi State, Alheri Community Development and Support Initiative (Alheri-CDSI), has appealed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practice and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the alleged non-execution of nomadic school projects in the three senatorial zones of Kano State.

The group’s programme officer, Mr Sani Mu’azu Tama made the call while addressing a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat Bauchi.

He said the EFCC and ICPC should ensure that those culpable are brought to book.

“These bodies must expedite actions to earn the trust and confidence of Nigerians. We will maintain a cursory look until the right thing is done,” he said.

Tama said if nomadic education is improved and made effective, most of the insecurity problems bedeviling the country at the moment could be addressed.

He accused the firms alleged to be handling the projects of resorting to the use of legal weapon to intimidate and frustrate the media outlet and its reporter after exposing the alleged mishandling of the projects.

He said going to court will not exonerate the firms from the alleged scandal, rather, it only exposes them to suspicions and cover-ups to divert public attention from the real issues at stake.

LEADERSHIP Friday recalls that WikkiTimes had published an investigation about six construction companies involved in the building of 20 units of one block- of 2-classrooms with furniture, toilets, and offices in selected locations across the three senatorial districts in Kano
