The Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded a remarkable revenue performance for February 2026, underscoring the impact of strategic leadership and operational discipline under the Customs Area Controller, Frank Okechukwu Onyeka.

According to official figures, the Command generated a total of N120.4 billion in February 2026, representing a significant increase from the N103 billion recorded in February 2025.

This reflects a robust year-on-year growth of over N16.8 billion, further cementing the Command’s status as a major revenue hub within the NCS.

Industry stakeholders have attributed this impressive performance largely to the exemplary leadership of Comptroller Onyeka, whose proactive approach to revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations has yielded tangible results.

Since assuming office, he has demonstrated a firm commitment to blocking revenue leakages, enhancing compliance, and fostering synergy with port users.

Under his watch, the Command has intensified the use of technology, strengthened monitoring mechanisms, and improved cargo clearance efficiency measures, collectively boosting both transparency and productivity. His engagement with stakeholders, including freight forwarders and importers, has also helped build trust and encourage voluntary compliance.

Observers describe Comptroller Onyeka’s efforts as a yeoman’s job, noting that his hands-on leadership style and zero-tolerance stance on infractions have significantly repositioned the Command. His ability to motivate officers and men of the Command has equally played a vital role in achieving these milestones.

The February 2026 revenue figure is not just a testament to improved trade volumes but also a reflection of disciplined administration and effective enforcement of fiscal policies. With this trajectory, the Tin Can Island Port Command is poised to exceed expectations in subsequent months.
