The minister stated this during an inspection visit to the dam, alongside the minister of state for Water Resources and Sanitation, Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, and a team of water experts.

In a statement by the ministry’s director, information and public relations, Mrs Funmi Imuetinyan, Prof. Utsev emphasised that the dam was subject to rigorous daily monitoring and regular inspections to ensure its continued safety and performance. He confirmed that the dam was operating optimally, supporting hydropower generation, irrigation, and water supply, with all key infrastructure components, including the spillway and penstock, functioning as intended.

The minister reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation’s commitment to the upkeep of water infrastructure across the country.
