Damara Emerges APC Consensus Candidate In Gombe, Calls For Peace

Dr Jerry Joseph Damara, has called for unity among aspirants and stakeholders following his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the 2027 Gombe South Senatorial election.

Damara, in a statement by his media aide, Mrs Comfort Mukollo, appealed to fellow aspirants and their supporters to set aside differences and join hands with him to advance the development of the senatorial district.

He said the time had come for all stakeholders to work together towards building a stronger and more united Gombe South.

“I warmly invite my fellow aspirants to work with me. We may come from different positions, but we share the same goal — to see Gombe South grow and succeed. Together, we can build something better for our people,” he said.

Damara expressed appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for the confidence reposed in him, describing the endorsement as a call to serve the people with dedication and integrity.

He said progress in the district could only be achieved through unity, inclusive leadership and fresh ideas.

The APC senatorial candidate also called on party members, youths, women and community leaders to support what he described as a new direction focused on development, opportunity and lasting change.

“Our mission is clear. To work together and deliver real development that will improve the daily lives of our people,” he stated.

Damara assured residents of Gombe South of his commitment to listening, engaging and working closely with all communities to ensure inclusive representation.

He said no community would be left behind in efforts to deliver development across the district.

His emergence comes as the APC in Gombe State continues efforts to manage internal party contests through consensus arrangements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Damara urged party faithful and residents of the district to remain united, stressing that the future of Gombe South depends on collective effort and a shared vision.
