The ongoing construction of the Damaturu flyover and underpass bridge is progressing steadily, with the construction company reaffirming its commitment to the timely completion of the project.
Yobe area manager of Triacta Nigeria Limited, Fadi Abi Aad, stated this while briefing journalists on the pace of the work.
Fadi said the slow pace of work was due to the expansion of roads and drainage from the 530 junction to the stadium to address persistent flooding in Damaturu, the state capital.
According to him, the flyover and underpass work was completed 100 per cent, awaiting the stone base and asphalt overlay next month.
While work on the expansion of the Potiskum-Maiduguri road to dualisation will continue upon completion of the flyover project, the Yobe area manager is reassured of the quality of projects despite the current hikes in the cost of building materials, driven by rising pump prices on the global market.
He commended the state government for its consistent support and collaboration, noting that the synergy between the company and government has been instrumental in keeping the project on track.
Fadi reaffirmed the company’s readiness to deliver the government’s vision for the new Yobe, including city renewal and infrastructure development.
The Damaturu flyover stands as a symbol of progress and transformation under the leadership of Governor Buni’s administration. Upon completion, it will not only enhance the city’s visual appeal but also ease traffic congestion, improve road safety and boost economic activities within the metropolis.
