Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and president of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, attended the funeral service for Florence Saraki, the mother of former president of the senate, Bukola Saraki.

Mrs Saraki, who died aged 88 on June 18, was honored during a solemn service at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. The occasion was graced by notable figures such as Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in 2023, and Emmanuel Udom, a former Governor of Akwa Ibom.

The service of songs was marked by the presence of Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun, Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom, and James Ibori, a former Governor of Delta. Also in attendance were Osita Ngwu, the Senator representing Enugu West, Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, Steve Oronsaye, a former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Lai Mohammed, a former Minister of Information and Culture, and Uche Secondus, a former Chair of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
