The League of Northern Democrats (LND) has mourned the passing of elder statesman and businessman magnate, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing him as a beacon of hope whose impact went beyond commerce, touching lives, building communities and fostering opportunity.

The league said this in a statement conveying condolences to the Dantata family, the Government, the people of Kano State, and the entire country on his demise on Saturday.

The statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the League, Dr Ladan Salihu, said the league joins millions of sympathisers across the world in mourning the loss of a towering icon – an extraordinary businessman, a politician, a statesman of distinction and a philanthropist whose life is a manifest inspiration to society.

The group said the late Dantata was a devout Muslim, with Islam guiding his life and business ethics. It added that he was a family man, a caring father and patriarch, a mentor, a philanthropist, and a builder of men.

“He wasn’t just a businessman; he was a business transformer! We acknowledge his professional legacy beyond a businessman – he created wealth with high corporate social responsibility standards, translating personal prosperity into public service.

He was a beacon of hope whose impact reached far beyond commerce, touching lives, building communities and fostering opportunity.

“As a devout Muslim, he lived in faith and humility, practising his religion faithfully, pursuing his dreams diligently and raising his family with love and discipline.

“May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, bless his soul and reward his good deeds with Aljannah on the Day of Resurrection. May Allah (SWT) also give all his children, grandchildren, relatives and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Specifically, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to our esteemed members, Tajudeen and Aamina, on this profound loss of a father.

“In all this, we draw solace that the deceased lived a transparently good, faithful, productive, prosperous, helpful and exemplary life. We are proud of his legacy and pray that it lives on as a guiding light for future generations,” the statement added.
