Manager to Nigerian music sensation, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, Asa Asika, has stirred online debate after declaring the singer as the most influential individual in Nigeria.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Zeph Podcast, Asika boldly asserted that no one comes close to Davido in terms of impact both on and off social media.

“Davido is mad influential. I don’t care what anybody says, I think Davido is the most influential person in Nigeria. I have seen it firsthand,” he said.

The statement has reignited long-running debates within the Nigerian entertainment space about who truly holds the crown of influence, with Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy often leading the conversation.

While some fans agreed with Asika’s claim, pointing to Davido’s massive fan base and philanthropic gestures, others argued that influence cannot be measured by popularity alone.

Davido currently holds the record of the most followed Nigerian on major social media platforms, including Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), a fact supporters have used to buttress Asika’s point.
