Nigerian music sensation, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido has paid homage to his late friend and colleague, Sound Sultan, in the visuals for his hit single ‘10 Kilo’.

The video, directed by Director Pink, features plus-size models dancing in front of a banner bearing Sound Sultan’s image, a clear nod to the late singer’s 2011 hit Orobo, which celebrated plus-size women and promoted body positivity.

Like Orobo, Davido’s 10 Kilo embraces similar lyrical themes, blending celebration of fuller-figured women with subtle tributes to Sultan’s artistry.

Sound Sultan remixed Orobo with Flavour in 2013, a version that enjoyed massive airplay across Nigeria and West Africa.

LEADERSHIP recalls that the beloved singer, songwriter, and producer passed away from cancer in July 2021, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire the Nigerian music industry.
