Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy Lead 2026 Headies Nominations

Popular Nigerian music stars Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have secured multiple nominations for the 18th Headies Awards, scheduled to take place in Canada.

 

Organisers unveiled the nominees for the 2026 edition, with the three major Afrobeats stars competing across top categories including Afrobeats Album of the Year, Best Male Artiste, Song of the Year, and Afrobeats Single of the Year.

 

Davido’s joint track with Omah Lay, With You, earned nominations for Song of the Year, Afrobeats Single of the Year, Best Recording of the Year, Best Headies Collaboration, and Viewers’ Choice. His album 5ive was also nominated for Afrobeats Album of the Year.

Wizkid scored nominations for Song of the Year and Afrobeats Single of the Year for MMS (with Asake) and Jogodo, while his project Morayo entered the running for Afrobeats Album of the Year. He also received nods for Digital Artiste of the Year, Best Male Artiste, and Viewers’ Choice.

 

Burna Boy earned a spot in the Afrobeats Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year categories for Bundle by Bundle, while his album No Sign of Weakness was nominated for Afrobeats Album of the Year.

 

Emerging artists Fido, Fola, Llona, Mavo, and Shoday secured nominations for the Next Rated category, while veteran artist Awilo Longomba is set to be honoured in the Hall of Fame.
