Billionaire businessman and chairman of Pacific Group, Dr Adedeji Adeleke, has donated N1billion to the Centenary Endowment Fund of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church (C&S) in Lagos.
The donation was made in memory of his late mother, Mrs Esther Adeleke, on Sunday.
At a thanksgiving hosted by his brother and Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, Dr Adeleke announced: “In honour of our late mother, senior mother in Israel, late Mrs Esther Adeleke, I donate One Billion Naira to the centenary endowment fund of the C & S Church.”
The Baba Aladura and prelate of ESOCS Church Worldwide, Dr David Bob-Manuel, had earlier announced that the church will be 100 years old by 2025.
The donation was the high point of the Thanksgiving Service where the guest speaker, the Deputy Baba Aladura, Elder Dr H.O. Demuren, commended the Adeleke family for their topnotch philanthropy.
“The Adeleke family and their members are rare gems. They serve the Lord and humanity in humility and consistency,” the Deputy Baba Aladura stated.
The event was attended by Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, including the grandson of the deceased and Afrobeat sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, among other family members and well-wishers.
