The first edition spanned seven days and was expertly hosted by Stephanie Coker, a well-known Nigerian on-air personality from EbonyLife TV and MTV Base Africa. Esteemed figures from the entertainment industry, including popular actress Ini Edo, the talented actor and TV personality IK Ogbonna, and renowned musician Dr. Sid, served as judges. The competition featured 50 contestants, and it was Miss Constance Olatunde, a remarkable singer, who claimed the coveted first prize of 10 million Naira.

Miss Constance Olatunde, hailing from Ekiti State, possesses an unquenchable passion for her craft. Her soulful performances on stage left an indelible mark, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to her art. With nine years of singing experience under her belt, her consistency and energy were palpable. Miss Constance Olatunde has since released her singles “Believe,” which she performed during the Season 2 finale of De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt.

The first season also showcased The Chrysolite Crew as the first runners-up, an impressive choreography group that earned a cash prize of 3 million Naira, and Emmanuel Ikebudu, known as Slim Saint, a uniquely talented comedian who received a cash prize of 2 million Naira. The show’s conclusion left us immersed in a wave of positive energy. There is simply nothing more captivating than witnessing a diverse range of talents, some of which were previously unheard of, unfold on stage. It was a beautiful, unique, and truly outstanding experience.

The Season 2 edition of De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt surpassed all expectations, solidifying its status as the biggest talent show in Nigeria. The show ran for three months, unlike the previous edition’s seven days, offering an extended period of entertainment that was filled with excitement, thrills, and emotional moments.

Hosting duties were expertly handled by Adams Ibrahim Adebola, popularly known as V.J Adams, a luminary in the entertainment industry and a musician, TV presenter, video jockey, and entrepreneur. Joining the panel of judges was Miss Rose Omokhoa Afije, known as Liquorose, who emerged as the first runner-up in Big Brother Naija Season 6 (Shine Ya Eye) in 2021. Liquorose, alongside Ini Edo, Dr. Sid, and IK Ogbonna, brought their expertise and unique perspectives to the judging panel. Liquorose, a talented video vixen who has appeared in music videos alongside renowned artists such as PSquare, Dbanj, Davido, Wizkid, 2face, and Yemi Alade, added a fresh dynamic to the show.

In addition to the extended duration, the second season of De 9jaSpirit Talent Hunt upped the ante by awarding a 7 million Naira cash prize to the first prize winner, along with a bonus trip to Dubai and Kenya. The first runner-up and second runner-up received cash prizes of 3 million Naira and 2 million Naira, respectively.

The show continued its tradition of attracting talented youths from all walks of life, who converged in Calabar from every corner of Nigeria. The winners were determined not only by live attendees but also by online viewers who voted for their favorite contestants.

The increased participation and viewership for Season 2 solidified its status as a national sensation. Esther Ugochi Kalu, known as “Ugee Royalty,” emerged as the first prize winner, captivating audiences with her powerful vocals and earning her the cash prize. Ugee Royalty, an upcoming gospel artist, plans to utilize her winnings to establish her own studio and support other budding gospel artists. She was elated not only about the cash prize but also about the opportunity to visit Dubai and Kenya. Her talent and potential for greatness are undeniable.

Ibukunoluwa Oluwaseun, known as “Ibquake,” a writer, teacher, and motivational speaker, clinched the first runner-up position, impressing the judges and audience alike with her powerful spoken word performances. She received a cash prize of 3 million Naira. Bassey Stephen Ernest, known as “Masterseb Comedian,” secured the second runner-up spot, utilizing his unique comedic style to shed light on social issues such as rape and domestic violence. He was awarded a cash prize of 2 million Naira. De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt has undoubtedly played a significant role in showcasing these remarkable talents to the world.

Describing De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt as the most captivating talent show in Africa would be an understatement. The show sets itself apart by offering an unparalleled experience. As a witness to the show’s magic, I was consistently astonished and deeply moved by the incredible performances. A heartfelt “thank you” is owed to De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt for providing us with such remarkable experiences.

With each passing season, De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt continues to exceed expectations, offering a blend of beauty and grandeur. The forthcoming Season 3 edition promises to be even more spectacular, featuring a 10 million Naira cash prize, a brand new car, and a trip to Kenya and Maldives. The growth and progress of the show are evident, with the cash prize for the first prize winner increasing from 7 million Naira to 10 million Naira, accompanied by additional perks.

The first runner-up and second runner-up will receive cash prizes of 3 million Naira and 2 million Naira, respectively, along with a 300,000 Naira cash prize for the best weekly performances. I encourage everyone, whether as a talented participant or an avid viewer, to engage with this extraordinary show. De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt has never disappointed, and it is highly unlikely that it ever will.
