The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has disclosed how one of the newly appointed Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), Prof. Abubakar Kana, set aside the garnishee order against the party for N1.5 billion.
Kana, the party’s national legal advisor, was among the 87 legal practitioners conferred the prestigious SAN on Monday.
Ganduje, who spoke at the reception on Thursday in honour of APC’s legal adviser in Abuja, said his strategic counsel and exceptional advocacy skills protected the party’s interests and ensured victories in critical cases.
Represented by his deputy, Ali Bukar Dalori, the APC national chairman said Kana’s swift and strategic legal interventions had saved the party from an immense financial burden and commended his efforts in brokering a settlement in the N92 million judgment against the party.
He also applauded Abdul Adamu Fagge, a SAN conferree, for demonstrating remarkable expertise and commitment to the legal profession in Kano state.
“Their skills have supported the APC‘s mandate, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s democratic growth. This SAN conferment underscores their positions as leading authorities in Nigerian law, reinforcing the APC‘s reputation for excellence. It also reflects the party‘s commitment to promoting the integrity of our great party.
“As we celebrate this achievement, we recognise Professor Kana’s and Abdul Adamu Fagge’s tireless efforts to enhance Nigeria’s democratic institutions, promote the rule of law, and uphold human rights. Throughout their careers, they have demonstrated unwavering commitments to justice, tirelessly upholding the rule of law and protecting the APC‘s interests.
„As we mark this significant milestone in their distinguished careers, we honour not only their achievements but also the positive impact they have had on countless lives,“ Ganduje added.
