Nollywood actress and businesswoman Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal has threatened to sue more than 100 bloggers, vloggers, YouTubers and social media personalities, including fellow actress Iyabo Ojo and her daughter, Priscilla, for alleged defamation, libel and cyberbullying.

The actress, through her lawyers, is demanding that the disputed online publications be removed, along with public retractions and apologies and written undertakings not to publish the allegedly defamatory content again.

In cease-and-desist notices dated October 3, 2026, the legal team gave recipients 7 days to comply, warning that failure could result in lawsuits seeking N50 million in damages from each affected individual.

The lawyers also threatened to seek permanent injunctions against further publication of the disputed material, recovery of legal costs and possible investigations by relevant security agencies.

The notices, issued by Bayo Akinlade, accused the recipients of publishing and circulating negative content about Anjorin, her businesses and her family.

The lawyer also claimed that some of the disputed publications included false claims and criminal allegations against their client and were circulated during online broadcasts without supporting police reports or court judgments.

Akinlade alleged that some recipients used the content to attract public attention and generate revenue, while exposing the actress to ridicule and potentially harming her reputation and commercial interests.

The legal team said the alleged publications could erode public confidence in Anjorin’s businesses and damage her reputation.

The notices instructed recipients to remove the disputed posts, videos, live broadcasts, clips and reposts from their platforms within seven days.

They also asked recipients to publish apologies and retractions as prominently as the original material and to provide written assurances that they would not repeat the alleged conduct.

The lawyers warned that non-compliance could lead to civil proceedings seeking N50 million in damages from each recipient, as well as injunctions against further publication.

They also reserved the right to petition relevant security agencies to investigate the alleged conduct and consider possible criminal proceedings.

According to the notices, they were sent copies to some recipients via Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, as well as by email and registered delivery.

The legal notices set out the allegations against the named individuals and platforms. The notices do not, in themselves, establish that the disputed publications were defamatory or that any recipient has incurred legal liability.
