Days after former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Emeka Ihedioha and others dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, the national leadership of the party has set up a caretaker committee to oversee its affairs in the state.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of PDP disclosed yesterday that it has constituted a 17-member caretaker committee led by Engr. Chidi Dike, to manage the party for three months.
The national publicity secretary of PDP, Hon Debo Ologunagba, in a statement, said the committee was setup on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), pursuant to Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as Amended in 2017),
He said the committee is “charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the Party in Imo State for a period not exceeding 90 days (3 months); or untill a new Executive Committee is elected.”
Besides Dike as chairman, other members of the committee are, Esther Aguwamba; Nnamdi Nsorom; Carl Nwoke Oma; Edith Nwachi; Barr. Uche Igbokwe;
Also in the committee are Bede Ejimadu; Barr. Gozie Nwachukwu; Chris Odoemena; Victor Diala; Njaka Uche; Clara Ugba Onyebuchi; Njaka Duruiheoma Emeka; Hon. Mike Okafor; Hon. Jeff Nwachukwu; Mrs. Chinyere Okoro; and Ugorji Onuegbu (secretary).
