Last Friday, bandits abducted 24 female students of the institution after breaking into their hostel. Troops later rescued six of the students while 18 are still in captivity.

The minister extended his heartfelt sympathy to the parents, the academic community and the entire people of Zamfara State over the tragic abduction.

In a statement by the acting director of press, Ministry of Defence, Attari Hope, the minister said, “I share in your pain and strongly condemn this reprehensible act carried out by suspected bandits.”

While he condemned the attack in totality, he called on the nation’s dedicated security forces to intensify efforts and deploy available resources to secure the safe return of the abducted students.
