The military high command directed field commanders to sensitise them to desist from colluding with or encouraging terrorist acts capable of sabotaging own operations.

The director, defence media operations, Major General Markus Kangye, gave the warning yesterday while giving updates on military operations across the country in the past one week.

He said troops within the week arrested 75 suspected terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal elements including two members of hybrid forces working for terrorists.

According to him, troops in a well-coordinated operation conducted from April 26 to 29 2025 in Bama, Kukawa and Madagali LGs of Borno and Adamawa states intercepted four terrorists’ logistics suppliers.

“Sadly, two of them were confirmed to be members of hybrid forces,” he said.

He said troops also rescued 33 hostages, arrested 18 suspected oil thieves and recovered stolen products worth N168,707,857.00 only during the week.

He said troops destroyed 22 illegal refining sites,72 crude oil cooking ovens, 41 dugout pits, 29 storage tanks, and 47 drums.
