Lazio has reinstated Super Eagles midfielder Dele-Bashiru as he replaced injured Rovella on their Serie A roster.
Lazio used its second and final substitution this season to reinstate Dele-Bashiru, as he replaced Rovella, who underwent surgery on Thursday to resolve his pubalgia and will be out for approximately forty days.
The Nigerian had been left out after the September 21 derby, replaced by Basic. Up until that point, he hadn’t convinced Sarri, who, given his injury, decided to cut him.
He’s now fully recovered: he returned to training with the team this week and will be called up for Sunday. After that, he’ll wait for news from Nigeria, who could call him up for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
In that case, the midfielder would leave in December and return in January.
Further changes to the squad could be made during the next winter transfer window, where substitutions will be free. From February onwards, however, Lazio will no longer be able to make substitutions, except for goalkeepers.
