Delta Assembly Screens, Confirms Appointments Of 3 Nominees

Delta State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointments of three nominees forwarded by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

They include Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje as chairman, Delta State Bureau for Pensions,
Olorogun Jude Emurotu as a Member of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, and Mr Ifeanyi Egwuyenga as Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, Delta State Job and Wealth Creation Bureau.

The nominees who appeared separately at plenary presided over by the Speaker, Hon Dennis Guwor, were introduced for the screening exercise by members representing their various constituencies in the hallowed chamber.

During the screening, lawmakers asked on how they intend to justify the positions for which they were nominated in the interest of the state.

The speaker approved the confirmation of the appointments following their successful screening in line with the constitution of Nigeria.

Majority Leader Hon Emeka Nwaobi in separate motions moved for individual confirmations of the appointments which were unanimously adopted through voice votes by the speaker.
