Democracy Better Than Military Rule, Says Ohanaeze Youth President

The National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, has expressed support for democratic rule in Nigeria, declaring that democracy is better than military rule.

Okwu, who was assessing the 26 years of democracy in Nigeria, insisted that “our democracy so far has been better better than military regime.”

He urged Nigerians to be patient with the leaders, noting that Rome was not built in a day.

Nnabuike also expressed the hope that that Nigeria will do better than countries like America before 50 years of democratic rule.

The Ohanaeze youth leader added that looks forward to a peaceful election in 2027 even as he noted that the political atmosphere appeared tensed up.

He, however, urged Northerners to support President Bola Tinubu to complete his eight-year mandate, adding that since the North completed eight year tenure, there was need to reciprocate the gesture.

He described zoning of political offices as a good arrangement, maintaining that it helps to give the minority a sense of belonging.
